The NTA is dedicated to strengthening the promotion of tourism, travel, hotel management, administration, commerce, finance, industry, and trade to the island of Nevis.
Job Description:
The Digital Media and Communications Officer is a dynamic role responsible for collaborating with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Digital Marketing Manager to develop a concise and effective social media strategy. He or she will assist in formulating and implementing strategies to boost the engagement and reach of the Nevis Tourism Authority’s Digital Media Strategy. The position will entail crafting and executing effective communication messaging to engage external customers and stakeholders. This individual will play a pivotal role in enhancing the NTA’s online presence, fostering meaningful interactions, and maintaining a consistent brand image across various digital platforms.
Reports to: Director of Sales and Marketing
Internal Relationships: Relates internally to all employees of the NTA.
External Relationships: Statutory bodies, affiliate agencies, investors, stakeholders, members related to the Ministry of Tourism and Government departments to help to build awareness and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation:
- Develop and design engaging digital newsletters to keep customers and stakeholders informed
- Create compelling written, photo, and video content for various online channels
- Conduct basic photo and video editing to enhance content quality.
- Utilize basic graphic design skills to produce visually appealing visuals.
2. Social Media Management:
- Lead the planning, development, and delivery of social media content across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube etc.
- Foster daily community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with external partners to co-create relevant and impactful content.
3. Media Content Management:
- Maintain an organized database of media content, regularly categorizing and uploading new materials.
- Efficiently manage and archive received media content.
4. Event Coverage:
- Attend NTA events to provide live media coverage and real-time social media updates.
- Capture and share event highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content.
6. Customer Interaction:
- Address inquiries and interact with the audience on social media platforms and NTA business WhatsApp, providing accurate and helpful responses.
7. Additional Responsibilities:
- Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by supervisors to support the overall communications and marketing goals of the NTA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital content creation, including copywriting, photo editing, and basic video editing.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends.
- Basic graphic design skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Prior experience in media, communications, or digital marketing is a plus.
