Oualie Bay on the west coast of Nevis reverberated to the sounds of Blues, soul and Caribbean beats during the inaugural Nevis Blues Festival. There has been an overwhelmingly positive reaction to this new musical venture, so much so that the organizers have already announced April 14-15-16 as the dates for next year.

Charlestown, Nevis, April 15, 2015… Recently appointed Northeast Sales Representative with the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA), Andrew Rowe, is looking forward to contributing to the promotion and success of both the NTA and US stakeholders.

More details of the lineup have been announced for the first edition of the Nevis Blues festival running April 16-18 at a specially created site adjacent to Oualie Beach.

Joining international blues headliners Ian Siegal, Denise Gordon and Zac Harmon are nine bands from St Kitts & Nevis, in what the organisers are calling the "Caribbean Collection".

The bands include Greenhouse, Odisi, Kore, and The Nu Vybes. An extra element has been added to the final night with the addition of the NEPAC choir and Justin Merrick, artistic director of the Stax Music Academy in Memphis.

Vaughn Anslyn, who accepted the baton on behalf of Nevis as it was passed on from the neighbouring island St. Kitts, sported the traditional dress of Scotland - a knee-length kilt.

The 2014 swim will be the 12th annual Bente Weber memorial swim which  offers the opportunity to both speedsters and adventurers to take on the best open ocean swimmers in the region and the world.
