Why I Fell In Love With Nevis

Why I Fell In Love With Nevis

Nevis is one of those places so easy to fall in love with. It’s got that Je ne sais quoi most locales don’t share in common with this jewel of the Caribbean.

It started for me with the 8 minute boat ride from Saint Kitts to the Nevis landing. As soon as I stepped foot on the dock flanked by turquoise waters and powdery sand, that was it for me.

I’ve always said, you can be anywhere in the world, but really it’s the people that make the place, and the Nevisians are kind and more than happy to share their slice of paradise with those lucky enough to visit here.

I stayed in the hills with views. The Mount Nevis Hotel was base camp for my few days of exploring.

Some favorite highlights were visiting the childhood home of Alexander Hamilton, a visit to the Botanical Gardens, getting off-road-ish with a tour of the island with Funky Monkey vehicles and sitting in a private lounger on-the-sand spot at Chrishi Beach Club after a delicious lobster lunch.

I love to eat, and some of the best Caribbean food can be found here.

Great places I loved are Bananas Restaurant for dinner as well as the Gin Trap for excellent seafood and sunsets and the Yachtsman Grill Restaurant right on the sand.

The Sea Breeze and The Montpelier Plantation and Beach are special places for stunning poolside lunches, and a local’s spot, called the Lime Beach Bar for outside dining is the spot to be for karaoke.

Nevis is one of those places I plan to return to over and over again, because it’s simply so fantastic and offers exactly what’s needed! Adventure, delectables, and relaxation all rolled into one amazing place in the world!
